Jim was the drummer for a band that was called "Zed's Dead". The band used to practice a couple times a week and actually completed a demo CD.

Jim, Tom, Dewey and Joe started playing together under the name "Sideways Pete" in the summer of 1999. The band renamed themselves "Zed's Dead" around the time Dave joined as lead guitarist in the winter of 2000. The band broke up in 2002 due to the tightening schedules of all members.

The ZED'S DEAD demo CD

The group finished a demo CD that included four original songs written by Tom, Dewey and Joe. Jeff Kimpland of Kimpland Productions in Liverpool, NY was extremely helpful in putting together what was a pretty good demo. Many thanks go out to Jeff.

Getting the tracks recorded for the CD had proven to be very educational to the band members. The drum tracks were recorded live during the band's rehearsals.  All other instruments and vocals from the rehearsals were later removed via Soundgate technologies. The subsequent tracks were individually recorded in the studio and mixed down between sessions.
